English Language Learners

Some students grow up in homes that do not speak English. Due to this, they are learning English in school as their second language. We refer to these students as English Language Learners (ELLs). In order to ensure ELLs receive the same value of education as the other students, teachers often implement various accommodations into their lessons. In order to give you an idea of some of the changes that are made, take a look at the lesson I have attached below. You will see the original lesson plan first, followed by the lesson with ELL accommodations included in red.
