Examples of Digital Assessments
Fluency Tutor for Google

(Digital running records)
With this program, students are assigned a passage to read at their level. Students will record themselves reading the assigned passage aloud. This recording then gets sent to the teacher to playback. While the teacher is listening to the passage, they are able to mark any errors or self corrections. The program then uses this information to create the child's fluency score.

If the teacher has the assistance tools turned on, students are also able to look up unknown words, translate words, and listen to how the passage should sound before reading For more information on Fluency Tutor, click on the video below.
ESpark

(Leveled Reading App)
eSpark is a program that assigns students lessons based on the needs of each individual student. Before a lesson is given, the student is given a pre-assessment. If they pass the pre-assessment they move to the next lesson. If a student does not pass the pre-assessment, they watch videos and complete various activities to help them learn and understand the skill. Once the lesson is complete, they are given a post assessment. This data is sent to the teacher so they can monitor progress as well as areas of need.

A nice bonus to this resource is that it allows students to record themselves completing some of the tasks for the teacher to see. For more information on eSpark click on the video below.
